Clearly, you are an excellent human being with tremendous taste and I will end up enjoying whatever you write in these universes. Consider all of the optional details optional.
That said, in general, I enjoy stories with a lot of adventures, shenanigans, misunderstandings, found families, people awkwardly trying to express their feelings, and action/plotty hurt/comfort (where the hurt is plot-based and the comfort part is physical, like tending to wounds and clinging until the adrenaline wears off), because most of all I love competence and characters having to work through some crap to get shit done. Happy endings are also a plus. I’m also down with m/f, m/m, f/f, threesomes, moresomes and gen. Any rating is fine and I do enjoy many a PWP if the basic setup of the relationship is there.
I’m not fond of rape or death fic, character-bashing, high school/teacher/student scenarios, a/b/o, or strong BDSM (mild powerplay stuff in sexy situations is fine).
걸어 | All In - Monsta X (Music Video) -- Chae Hyungwon (걸어 | All in - Monsta X (Music Video)), Lee Minhyuk (All in - Monsta X MV)
There is just so much implied in the music video that I have to know more. Tell me their tragic love story. How did Hyungwon and Minhyuk meet? Was it through the other guys, how long have they known each other? Was the world they live in always that terrible? What was it like the first time they tried the flowers? What’s the timeline, do they make it out of the bathtub? What’s that purple blob in the sky? Include as much of the other characters as you want, just tell me more about this world through Hyungwon and Minhyuk’s perspectives.
There are so many hints of a bigger world that I would love to see explored. Society is clearly in a bad way, what’s life like on a daily basis? How does religion factor into things, considering Hyungwon’s dad? What do the guys do for fun when they aren't resisting an oppressive military presence? Missing scenes, stories set before the mv and set in the future are all great. I'm down for whatever kind of exploring you want to do.
Old Kingdom - Garth Nix -- Touchstone
I’m desperate for more stories that take place during the restoration of the Kingdom, between the first two books. I just want to read all about how Belisaere gets cleaned out, training new charter mage recruits, or rebuilding the Charter Stones. Give me all of the adventures where Touchstone (& any other family member) has to be smart and strong and even a little lucky to work his way towards a new Old Kingdom. I do love how easily Sabirel & Touchstone came to rely on each other in the books, so more exploration of that aspect of their relationship would be great. Or you can focus on his relationship with the kids instead.
What I’m crazy into here is the world of the books and the rebuilding of the Kingdom. If instead, you wanted to set the story after the end of the books so that you can include the whole royal family and Lirael as well, I would also definitely be into that. I just want more of these small adventures and trials that expand on the world of the books and get into the nitty gritty of running the Kingdom and how Touchstone handles growing into his title and the relationship with his family.
Hustlers (2019) -- Ramona Vega (Hustlers), Destiny (Hustlers)
Tell me about the best days, before they even had to run cons, when Destiny was still learning everything she could from Ramona. Tell me about the good cons, the efficient teamwork and trust. Tell me about the gifts Ramona buys for Destiny, the gifts Destiny tries to give to Ramona. Tell me about how they meet again. Does Destiny call her or does Ramona reach out? I obviously ship it, but even if you don’t, the intensity of this relationship is what I’m drawn to, so as long as that’s there, I’ll be happy.
Again, what I enjoy here is the intense rise and fall of Destiny & Ramona’s relationship throughout the movie. How they got to be “us against the world,” how it broke and if they’ll ever get back to that level of trust. I also just love heists and crimes and found families, so this story is already packed with things I love. Would love a canon setting, but if you feel drawn to an AU that keeps that charged bond and dynamic, then go for it.
陈情令 | The Untamed (TV) - Lán Yuàn | Lán Sīzhuī (The Untamed (TV)) Lán Zhàn | Lán Wàngjī (The Untamed (TV))
I need so many gen stories about Sizhui growing up in Cloud Recesses and the way Lan Wangji must have anguished about how to raise him properly. Give me raising rabbits, music lessons, swordfighting lessons, Lan Wangji trying to not play favorites with the kids when he almost certainly has a favorite. If you want a post-show setting, then more night hunts with the kids would be fun. Obviously, include the rest of the Lan Sect as you need and the more Lan Wangji ties himself in knots over his feelings for Wei Wuxian in the background, the better. Again, this is a gen request, I don’t romantically ship this.
It is taking all of my restraint to not just yell, “HE RAISED THAT BABY!” because did you know, Lan Wangji raised that baby!! This is a dynamic that isn’t really explored much in the show, but a lot is implied. Sizhui grew up to be smart, skilled and empathetic, he must have learned at least a little of that from someone other than Lan Xichen. I just want to read about Lan Wangji trying to 1. Interact with youths, 2. Interact in a way that he feels is responsible, 3. But also doesn’t play favorites or give away Sizhui’s past. I have read the book as well, but none of the other adaptations yet.
